Dinosaur Jr.

Why wouldn’t Dinosaur Jr. get back together? The Police did. So did Van Halen, Led Zeppelin, Asia, Aqua, The Dismemberment Plan, B2K, Genesis, The Jesus and Mary Chain, My Bloody Valentine, The Pixies, Rage Against the Machine and just about every band short of Kris Kross. Wait, what’s that you say? Kris Kross is currently working with Jermaine Dupri on a new album? Well, there you have it, now there’s no reason why J Mascis, Murph and Lou Barlow shouldn’t have reunited last year to release Beyond, the original lineup’s first LP of new material since the Reagan Administration. The college radio forefathers’ first album in years reignited the same thundering, straightforward rock tunes that had left so many now-40-somethings holding out hope that the flannel-clad trio would kiss and make up. Or at least stop talking shit about each other long enough to record some songs. Thankfully, Dupri didn’t produce the record. He was too busy warming it up with Kris.
