The Dave Matthews Band, ‘The Gorge’

By • Jul 6th, 2004 • Category: Album Reviews

The Dave Matthews Band’s most recent live album contains 27 tracks from a three-day stint in George, Wash., and is packed full of jams that never seem to end.

The literary equivalent to a DMB live album would be a series of album reviews that all sound eerily alike, complete with a self-indulgent verbosity and pandering to Abercrombie hippies arriving in white Jeep Wranglers while the reviews, which are being read aloud, slip further into the background and blend into a constant drone.

Though it’s not fair to hate the writer due to the legions of automatons who swear by the genius of the various reviews, you would be justified in calling the journalist who penned the indistinguishable articles long-winded, creatively stagnant, pompous and otherwise boring.
